Itinerary

Day 1 - Tirana Airport - Hotel

Upon your arrival in Albania, our Tour Leader will meet you at the airport exit. After gathering we will transfer you directly to your accommodation in  Tirana. You’ll have some free time to unwind and recover from your journey. The day is designed as a welcome opportunity to meet our Tour Leader and explore the surrounding area at your own pace. Overnight stay in Tirana.

Day 2 - Tour of Tirana

Our tour for today is focused only in Tirana. It will be a full day tour where you will visit so many landmarks.

TIRANA

Tirana is the vibrant capital of Albania, known for its lively atmosphere, rich history, and cultural diversity. The city features a mix of architectural styles, from Ottoman-era buildings to Soviet-era structures and modern developments. Skanderbeg Square, the heart of the city, is surrounded by important landmarks, including the National History Museum, which offers insight into Albania’s past, and the Et’hem Bey Mosque, a beautiful example of Ottoman architecture, BunkART Museum, initially designed as a nuclear bunker offering shelter to the Albanian communist
supreme leader Enver Hoxha and his close party members during the cold war.  One of Tirana’s most famous spots is Mount Dajti, offering stunning views of the city and surrounding landscapes, easily accessible by cable car. The city is also known for its vibrant arts scene, trendy cafes, and colorful buildings, making it an exciting destination for visitors. Tirana is a dynamic blend of tradition and modernity, offering both historical attractions and a lively cultural scene. We will also visit the Museum of Armed Forces and Petrela Castle. Overnight in Tirana.

Day 3 - Tirane - Kruje - Prizren (Kosovo)

After meeting with the Tour Leader we will continue towards Kruja and after tour of Kruja we will head to Kosovo.

KRUJE

Kruja is a historic town in central Albania, renowned for its medieval castle and its deep connection to Skanderbeg, the national hero of Albania. The Kruja Castle dates back to the 5th century and served as a stronghold for Skanderbeg during his resistance against the Ottoman Empire. Inside the castle, you can visit the Skanderbeg Museum, which showcases artifacts and exhibits related to his life and legacy. The Ethnographic Museum is also located in Kruja, offering insight into the traditional Albanian way of life. The town’s Old Bazaar is a charming area where visitors can find local handicrafts, antiques, and souvenirs. With its blend of history, culture, and scenic views over the surrounding countryside, Kruja is one of Albania’s most important historical sites.

PRIZREN

Prizren is a historic city in southern Kosovo, renowned for its cultural diversity and beautiful Ottoman-era architecture. Often referred to as the cultural capital of Kosovo, it is home to a rich mix of religious sites, including mosques, churches, and a synagogue, reflecting its multicultural heritage. One of the most famous landmarks is the Prizren Fortress, offering panoramic views of the city and the surrounding area. The Stone Bridge and the Old Bazaar are also iconic, with charming cobblestone streets lined with traditional shops and cafes. Prizren is known for its festivals, including the Prizren Film Festival, and its vibrant arts scene. The city’s combination of history, culture, and stunning landscapes makes it a must-visit destination in the Balkans. Overnight in Prizren.

Day 4 - Prizren - Pristina - Skopje (North Macedonia)

First stop for today will be the capital of Kosovo, Pristina. After the tour of Pristina and sone free time for a coffee we will head towards North Macedonia to reach the capital, Skopje.

PRISTINA 

Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo, known for its youthful energy and vibrant cultural scene. The city blends modern developments with rich historical landmarks, reflecting Kosovo’s complex past. Key sights include the Newborn Monument, which is repainted annually to symbolize the evolving identity of the country, and the Ethnological Museum (Muzeu Etnologjik), which offers a glimpse into local traditions and history. The Mother Teresa Square honors the famous Albanian humanitarian, while the Gračanica Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, showcases medieval Serbian Orthodox architecture. Pristina also has a thriving café culture and is home to several universities, giving it a youthful and dynamic atmosphere. 

SKOPJE

Our journey continues to Skopje, the vibrant capital of North Macedonia, a city shaped by European, Ottoman, and even Asian influences. The iconic Stone Bridge connects the modern and old parts of the city. One of Skopje’s most notable landmarks is the Alexander the Great Statue, located in the city center. Another impressive sight is the Art Bridge, which leads to the Archaeological Museum, adorned with colorful street lanterns and statues of Macedonian artists and musicians. We’ll explore the Old Bazaar, the largest in the Balkans, where the modern lifestyle blends seamlessly with centuries of history. A towering cross on top of the mountain, visible from miles away, has become a defining symbol of Skopje. Overnight stay in Skopje.

Day 5 - Skopje - Ohrid

Our journey for today will be Ohrid

OHRID

Ohrid is a beautiful city located in the southwestern part of North Macedonia, by the shores of Lake Ohrid. It is often referred to as the “Jerusalem of the Balkans” due to its rich cultural and religious history. The city has been inhabited since ancient times, with its roots tracing back to the 4th century BC, and it is famous for its ancient architecture, churches, and monasteries.

Ohrid is also known for being a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its well-preserved historical sites. Among the most notable attractions are: Lake Ohrid, Church of St. John at Kaneo, Samuil’s Fortress, Ancient Theatre of Ohrid, St. Sava Church, Halveti Teke and Old Bazzar. Overnight in Ohrid.

 

Day 6 - Ohrid - Bitola

After the breakfast today we will head towards Bitola, or how it used to be called Manastiri.

BITOLA

Bitola is a historic city in northern Macedonia, known for its rich cultural heritage and Ottoman-era architecture. Often referred to as the “City of Consuls” due to its role as a diplomatic hub during the 19th century, Bitola is home to several beautiful landmarks. The Heraclea Lyncestis archaeological site, dating back to Roman times, features impressive ancient ruins, including mosaics and a theater. The city’s Clock Tower, one of Bitola’s most iconic symbols, offers a panoramic view of the city. Bitola’s vibrant Shirok Sokak street, lined with cafes, shops, and neoclassical buildings, is a popular spot for both locals and visitors. With its blend of ancient history, Ottoman influences, and modern charm, Bitola is a captivating destination in North Macedonia. Overnight in Bitola.

Day 7 - Bitola - Thessaloniki (Greece)

In todays itenerary is Greece and the first stop will be Thessaloniki

THESSALONIKI

Thessaloniki is the second-largest city in Greece, known for its vibrant blend of history, culture, and modern life. The city’s rich past spans from ancient Greek and Roman times to Byzantine and Ottoman periods, with landmarks such as the White Tower, a symbol of the city, and the Arch of Galerius. Thessaloniki is also famous for its stunning Byzantine churches, including the Hagia Sophia and the Rotunda, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. The city’s bustling Aristotelous Square is a central hub for shopping, dining, and socializing. Thessaloniki is renowned for its lively food scene, with local specialties like bougatsa (pastry) and souvlaki. The city is also a gateway to the beautiful Mount Athos and the beaches along the Thermaic Gulf. With its blend of ancient monuments, modern culture, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere, Thessaloniki is a must-visit destination in Greece. Overnight in Thessaloniki.

Day 8 - Thessaloniki - Meteora

Today after the breakfast and meeting with the Tour Leader we will continue towards Meteora.

METEORA

Meteora is a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site in central Greece, renowned for its extraordinary rock formations and ancient monasteries. The name “Meteora,” meaning “suspended in the air,” refers to the massive, towering rocks that rise dramatically from the valley below. These rock formations are not only a geological wonder but also home to a group of monasteries that were built by monks in the 14th and 15th centuries. Originally, there were 24 monasteries, though only six remain active today, perched precariously on the rocks. Meteora is a spiritual and historical site, offering visitors a unique combination of natural beauty and cultural significance. It’s also a popular destination for hiking, rock climbing, and photography, as the stunning landscapes provide breathtaking views of the monasteries and surrounding valleys. Overnight in Meteora

Day 9 - Meteora - Ioniana - Gjirokaster (Albania)

Our first destination for today will be Ioniania and after that we will heat towards Albania to visit the city of Gjirokaster.

IONIANIA

Today, our first stop will be Ioannina, a city renowned for its rich history, cultural heritage, and stunning landscapes. As we explore the cobblestone streets of the old town, you’ll be immersed in the city’s past, with visible traces of both Byzantine and Ottoman influences in the architecture, from ancient walls to quaint houses. Our next visit will be the impressive Ioannina Castle, which dates back to the Byzantine period. Inside the castle, we’ll discover a maze of narrow streets and historical structures. As we wander through the lively streets, you’ll have the chance to enjoy charming cafes that serve traditional Greek dishes and local specialties.

GJIROKASTER

Today, we will visit Gjirokastra, also known as “The Stone City,” a UNESCO World Heritage site located in southern Albania, on the eastern slopes of Mali i Gjere mountain. The city has the appearance of a fortress, with each house resembling a small stronghold. Gjirokastra’s origins trace back to the Gjirokastra Castle, built in the 4th century A.D., and it is regarded as one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Balkans. Every five years, Gjirokastra becomes the heart of Albanian folklore and traditional music, as passionate folklore groups gather to showcase their music, dances, and traditional costumes. Before entering the castle, we’ll stroll through the medieval bazaar, where the old town cascades gracefully down the hill, offering narrow stone-paved streets adorned with a variety of handmade crafts by local artisans. We’ll also visit one of the best-preserved traditional houses in the city, where the original furnishings and architecture remain intact. Overnight in Gjirokastra.

Day 10 - Gjirokaster - Blue Eye - Butrint - Sarande - Corfu (Greece)

Today we will visit the natural spring which is amoung the famous tourists attractions and after that we will head towards The Archeological Park of Butrinti.

BLUE EYE

The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) is a stunning natural spring located near Delvina in southern Albania. It is famous for its vibrant, crystal-clear blue water that seems to swirl and sparkle, creating the illusion of a glowing “eye.” The spring is surrounded by lush greenery, and the deep, mesmerizing blue hue of the water contrasts beautifully with the natural landscape. The Blue Eye is fed by underground streams, and the water flows at a constant temperature, making it a refreshing sight, especially on warm days. It is a popular spot for visitors seeking a peaceful retreat, and while the water is too deep for swimming, it’s perfect for admiring the beauty of nature and taking photographs. The Blue Eye is a hidden gem that showcases the untouched natural beauty of Albania.

BUTRINTI

The Archaeological Park of Butrint is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in southern Albania, near the Ionian Sea. This ancient city, which dates back over 2,500 years, is one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Balkans. Butrint has been inhabited since the Greek and Roman periods, and its ruins showcase a rich blend of Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman influences. Key highlights of the site include the well-preserved Theater, Basilica, Roman Baths, and City Walls, as well as the impressive Temple of Asclepius. The park is set in a lush, picturesque landscape with wetlands and a diverse range of flora and fauna. Butrint’s historical and cultural significance, combined with its natural beauty, makes it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Overnight in Sarande.

The next day it will be the transfer day to the port of Saranda where you get the ferry to go in Corfu, or you enjoy some beach days in magical beach of Ksamil (on your own ).
